Best Digital Product Passport software for textiles and apparel: 8 tools scored (2026)
Short answer (updated 25 September 2026): for fashion and textile brands, the right DPP tool depends on what the passport has to do besides comply. For supplier data collection at scale, look at Seamdex, GreenStitch or TrusTrace. For resale, authenticity and ownership transfer, look at EON or Arianee. If you want the passport to also carry care guidance and start a direct customer relationship (registration, warranty, AI answers from your own product docs) on the same QR code, Veribl covers the most of that. It scored highest (4.5 of 6) on the criteria below, mainly because of the owner-experience side.
When textiles need a Digital Product Passport
Textiles and apparel are a priority group under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). The Commission's ESPR working plan 2025-2030 gives 2027 as the indicative year for adopting the textiles/apparel act, and obligations then apply after the transition period set in that act. The EU DPP registry went live on 20 July 2026. The act isn't final, so tools that let you add fields later are safer than ones built around a guessed schema.
Methodology
I read each vendor's public DPP, product and pricing pages on 25 September 2026. Six criteria, each scored 1 (clearly shown), 0.5 (partly shown or only implied) or 0 (not found on public pages). A 0 means I could not find it, not that it can never be done. Maximum 6.
- Textile data model: fibre composition, care instructions, recycled content and similar fields.
- Supplier data collection: a portal, template or integration for suppliers to contribute data.
- Circular services: resale, repair, rental or take-back built on the passport.
- Owner experience: what the buyer gets after purchase, such as registration, ownership, warranty or support.
- Integrations: a public API or stated e-commerce, PLM or ERP connections.
- Published pricing: 1 if DPP plans are published, 0 if demo or custom quote. This scores transparency, not cost.

Seven tools tie at 3.5 because they are strong in different places. Read the "best at" notes before picking on score alone.
What each tool is best at
- Veribl: a post-purchase platform. One QR code carries the DPP (material composition, care, supply chain traceability) and also opens registration, warranty, care guides and an AI support agent trained on the brand's own product docs. Published self-serve plans. Connects through a REST API and webhooks. Supplier data collection and resale are not its focus.
- Seamdex: built for fashion. Care labels and passport share one composition record, suppliers contribute through a template or their own login, GS1 Digital Link QR codes. Standard plan published at 300 EUR a month.
- GreenStitch: DPP inside a wider sustainability suite (carbon, reporting), with PLM/ERP and supplier data integration. DPP pricing is by proposal.
- Avelero: fashion DPP with supply chain data, certifications, care guides and resale or recycling options, and e-commerce connections. Demo-led.
- dpp.gs: textile passport with fibre composition, care and durability fields and a care-label-friendly QR, with published plans.
- Arianee: tokenised passports focused on proof and transfer of ownership, repair history, warranty and resale. Strong fit for luxury.
- EON: product digital IDs for traceability, authenticated resale and circular programmes. Enterprise, demo-led.
- TrusTrace: supply chain traceability and compliance for fashion, with the passport as an output of that data.
Which one should you pick?
- Your bottleneck is getting data from mills and factories: Seamdex, GreenStitch or TrusTrace.
- You run resale, rental or repair programmes: EON or Arianee.
- You sell through wholesale and marketplaces and want to know who your end customers are: Veribl, since the same scan that shows the passport can register the owner and answer care and fit questions.
FAQ
When will the textile Digital Product Passport be mandatory?
The Commission's working plan gives 2027 as the indicative year for adopting the textiles act. Obligations apply after the transition period the act sets, so check the final text when it is adopted.
What data goes into a textile DPP?
Expected fields include a product identifier, fibre composition, care instructions, durability and repair information, recycled content, recyclability and end-of-life guidance. The delegated act will set the final list.
Can the care label QR code be the DPP?
Yes. Seamdex, dpp.gs and Avelero all describe putting the passport QR on the care label or hangtag.
Which textile DPP tools publish their pricing?
Veribl, Seamdex and dpp.gs publish plans. GreenStitch, Avelero, Arianee, EON and TrusTrace quote through a demo or proposal.
Can a fashion DPP also support resale?
Yes. Arianee and EON build resale and ownership transfer on the passport. Avelero mentions resale or recycling options.
